Projects
We team up with communities, artists, and cultural organisations to explore and share heritage in creative and meaningful ways. We’re all about real stories and lived experiences, especially those that don’t always get heard. Through collaboration, creativity, and cross-generational conversations, we help connect voices and stories from the past, present and future.

Our Sporting Heritage funded project, 2025 shines a light on the untold stories of women and girls in sport.
We have been exploring the stories of the women and girls who have played rugby both locally and internationally over the years. We have been delving into the unique aspects of women’s sport, which attracts not only avid sports fans, but often those interested in activism, feminism, and social
justice. By collaborating with local schools, girls’ rugby teams, and coaches in the Sussex area we have explored both the history and current issues in women’s rugby. This project aims to understand the experiences of young women at this historic moment and how they can learn from the past. Find out more here

BYC 100 . Established in 1917, Brighton Youth Centre (BYC) is Brighton’s leading youth project, with a 100 year history of delivering services in the city.
In 2023 BYC successfully secured investment to rebuild the centre which was in urgent need of repair. Demolition of the original building presented a risk of loss to its unique heritage; it also offered an opportunity to celebrate its history within a new building.
As part of the B.fest programme in October 2023, BYC commissioned Sideline Assembly to explore existing archives, consult young people and connect with the wider community, to celebrate the 100-year heritage of Brighton Youth Centre
